Korea in Numbers

About

Korea in Numbers shows South Korea through official figures, in English, with a chart and a short explanation for each one.

Who makes it

This is an independent project run by one developer in South Korea. It is not affiliated with the Korean government or with any of the organizations whose data it uses.

Where the numbers come from

Every number on this site is tied to a source, and most come from KOSIS, the statistics database of South Korea's Ministry of Data and Statistics. The sources page lists each source and the pages that rely on it. A page cannot be published here unless its data has a registered source.

How often it is updated

The site checks KOSIS for new releases once a day and rebuilds the affected pages when the data changes. Figures collected by hand, such as those on the culture pages, are checked against the original source before they are published and are updated less often.

Corrections

If a number looks wrong or out of date, please write to [email protected] with the page and the figure. Confirmed errors are fixed on the page.
