Semiconductors are South Korea's biggest export, and two Korean firms make most of the world's DRAM memory. Here are Korean chips in numbers.

South Korea's semiconductor exports rose 22.2% in 2025 to the highest level ever, according to the trade ministry.

Chips were $173.4 billion of $709.7 billion in total exports, the first year South Korea's exports passed $700 billion.

of world DRAM revenue went to two Korean firms

In April–June 2026, Samsung (삼성전자) ranked first in DRAM memory chips with 39.4% of global revenue and SK hynix (SK하이닉스) second with 24.9%, according to TrendForce.
